yajna-vastu-gatam sarvam
ucchistam rsayah kvacit
cakrur hi bhagam rudraya
sa devah sarvam arhati
SYNONYMS
yajna-vastu-gatamthings belonging to the sacrificial arena; sarvameverything; ucchistamremnants; rsayahthe great sages; kvacitsometimes, in the Daksa-yajna; cakruhdid so; hiindeed; bhagamshare; rudrayaunto Lord Siva; sahthat; devahdemigod; sarvameverything; arhatideserves.
TRANSLATION
The father of Nabhaga said: Whatever the great sages sacrificed in the arena of the Daksa-yajna, they offered to Lord Siva as his share. Therefore, everything in the sacrificial arena certainly belongs to Lord Siva.
