bhagavan prapitamahah
hotur vyatikramam jnatva
babhase ravi-nandanam

TRANSLATION
The most powerful great-grandfather Vasistha, after hearing these words of Manu, understood the discrepancy on the part of the priest. Thus he spoke as follows to the son of the sun-god.
