तृतीयां वडवामेके तासां संज्ञासुतास्त्रयः ।
यमो यमी श्राद्धदेवश् छायायाश्च सुताञ्छृणु ॥ ९ ॥

trtiyam vaḍavam eke

tasam samjna-sutas trayaḥ

yamo yami sraddhadevas

chayayas ca sutan chrnu

trtiyam-the third wife; vaḍavam-Vaḍava; eke-some people; tasam-of all three wives; samjna-sutaḥ trayaḥ-three issues of Samjna; yamaḥ-one son named Yama; yami-Yami, a daughter; sraddhadevaḥ-Sraddhadeva, another son; chayayaḥ-of Chaya; ca-and; sutan-the sons; srnu-just hear about.

TRANSLATION

It is said that the sun-god had a third wife, named Vaḍava. Of the three wives, the wife named Samjna had three children-Yama, Yami and Sraddhadeva. Now let me describe the children of Chaya.
