If you take... Veda means knowledge, scripture. Veda does not mean any particular scripture. Any scripture which gives knowledge of God, you can call it as Veda. Vedais ca sarvaih. If any book or any scripture or any book of knowledge does not give the information of God, that is not scripture, because it cannot be called scripture, or Veda, because it does not search after the Supreme Being. Therefore Krsna says, vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyah. Bahunam janmanam ante jnanavan mam prapadyate, vasudevah sarvam iti [Bg 7.19]. This is the ultimate goal of knowledge.
