Krishna's family

So here Kuntidevi says that "Please help me in cutting my affection with my family." Sneha-pasam imam chindhi: "Please cut off. Please help me cutting this family connection." Then Kunti says that tvayi me ananya-visaya matir madhu-pate asakrt. So this Krsna consciousness movement means to cut off family connection and enter into Krsna's family. Not void. We are not impersonalists or voidists. The Mayavadi philosopher, they are impersonalist. They think, "Krsna is person. Krsna's activities are all personal. So this is also maya." Because they are Nirvisesavadi, their ultimate goal is nirvisesa-brahman. So anything personal, they cannot accept it. And the Buddhist philosophy is to zero, sunyavadi. Nirvisesa-sunyavadi. The whole world is now corrupted with these two kinds of philosophies: nirvisesa-sunyavada, impersonalism and voidism. But Vaisnava philosophy is not voidism, not impersonalism. Vaisnava philosophy means to know the Absolute Truth as person. Impersonal realization of the Absolute Truth is partial knowledge. Then you will not have to return back again to this temporary family, which will not stay. But if you enter Krsna's family... Therefore Krsna comes. Krsna is so kind that you are so much family..., fond of family life, "Just here see. I have got My family. I am not impersonal. I have got My family. I have got My father. I have got My mother. I have got My friend. I have got My beloved, Radharani, and the gopis. Everything I have got. You can enter also. Come. Why you are rotting here?" That is Krsna's mission. (More...)

So the Krsna consciousness movement means to practice in this life how to enter Krsna's family. You enter Krsna's family as you like. There are five rasas: santa-rasa, dasya-rasa, sakhya-rasa, vatsalya-rasa and madhurya-rasa. That is reflected in this world also, the same. Tejo-vari-mrdam vinimayah. This..., this material world is reflection of the spiritual world. Chayeva yasya bhuvanani bibharti durga [Bs 5.44]. Here there are rasas-santa-rasa, dasya-rasa. Here also there is master and servant, there is friend and friend, there is father and mother and the son, there is beloved. Everything is there, but they are imitation, chaya. They are not reality. Krsna's family... Krsna in Vrndavana has got a great family. He has got His father. He has got His mother, Mother Yasoda; Nanda Maharaja. He has got so many friends, hundreds and thousands-boyfriends, girlfriends. The trees, the plants, the flowers, the fruits, the land, the water, the cows, the calves-He is surrounded by a great family. He is not a single person. Suppose if we say, "Now the president is coming." So president means he is not only coming alone; he is coming with secretaries, his ministers, his military secretary and so many other people, some soldiers and bodyguards. He is not alone. So if a material president, insignificant, is always surrounded by his associates, so the Supreme Being, how He is associated with His surroundings, you can just imagine. He cannot be alone. That is Krsna. Krsna is not zero, sunyavadi, as they say that "Everything zero after this," or nirvisesa, "Everything like sky." No. He is individual, person. And He says in the Bhagavad-gita, in the Second Chapter, "My dear Arjuna, you, you are a person. Me, I am also a person. And all these soldiers and kings who are assembled here, they are also person. So don't think that we were not person in the past, and we are not person at present, and in future also we shall not become person. We are all person, eternally person." So these children... Kaumara acaret prajno dharman bhagavatan iha [SB 7.6.1]. That is Prahlada Maharaja's instruction, that you produce children as much as you can train them to become eternally family members of Krsna. That is spiritual contraceptive. Don't produce children like cats and dogs. This is our philosophy. If you can produce Krsna conscious children, produce one hundred children. There is no objection. But if you cannot do that, then either don't produce children or produce children as much as you can manage. This is Krsna philosophy. Our philosophy is not simply negation. It is positive. They, general people, they are unnecessarily producing children, then cannot manage. So they are adopting so many sinful activities, so much so that they are now killing their own child within the womb and becoming implicated in sinful activities and prolong the life in this material world very miserably. Just see the miserable condition of the child, baby within the womb. She is... It is in the mother's womb, and the mother, at the advice of the doctor, is killing. Why? Because that child-now it is child-he did it. He killed so many other children in his previous life; now he is being killed. Not only in one womb, but he will enter another womb-he will be killed. Please accept my greetings. I thank you very much for your letter dated June 23, 1969, and I am pleased to note that you are anxious to see me as soon as possible. So far as human frailties are concerned, they can all be adjusted by dovetailing everything in Krishna Consciousness. Our Krishna is a great family Personality. Krishna is never a mendicant, and our ambition is to enter into Krishna's family and to associate with Him personally. In spiritual life also there are men and women. They are very beautiful and attractive, but they are all so much absorbed in thought of Krishna that in the spiritual world there is no sex life. That means that Krishna Consciousness is so sublime and happy that it surpasses the pleasure of sex life. In the material world, because there is no information of Krishna Consciousness, sex life is taken as the highest pleasurable situation. Anyway, in our philosophy we prohibit illicit sex life and not sex life itself. In Krishna Consciousness there are many illustrious householders. So to marry and to become an exemplary householder is the ideal life of Krishna Consciousness. If the girl who is willing to marry you becomes Krishna Conscious, and as I think you are already Krishna Conscious, it will be a nice combination, provided you live under bona fide guidance. Human life is meant for acquiring knowledge and detachment to the material world. Knowledge means to understand that everything belongs to Krishna. Krishna consciousness means that everything including myself are different energies of the Lord and as such should be utilized for the purpose of Krishna. Krishna wants that all living entities should live with Him, as the father likes the whole family to live with him. In this sacred philosophical discourse the Supreme Godhead declares Himself as the begetting father, who impregnates the seeds of living entities in the womb of mother nature who in turn gives birth to all varieties of living entities or species. So the plain truth is that the Supreme Godhead the Father, the nature material is the mother and all living entities are so many children of almighty father Godhead, and the mother nature. The whole arrangement is just a family unit, and we should wonder as to why there is so much anomaly in this great universal family unit. (More...)

In Krsnaloka there are also family, friends, society, father and mother; everything is there, but they are eternal.

It is said that it is easier to maintain a great empire than to maintain a small family, especially in these days, when the influence of Kali-yuga is so strong that everyone is harassed and full of anxieties because of accepting the false presentation of maya's family. The family which we maintain is created by maya; it is the perverted reflection of the family in Krsnaloka. In Krsnaloka there are also family, friends, society, father and mother; everything is there, but they are eternal. Here, as we change bodies, our family relationships also change. Sometimes we are in a family of human beings, sometimes in a family of demigods, sometimes a family of cats, or sometimes a family of dogs. Family, society and friendship are flickering, and so they are called asat. It is said that as long as we are attached to this asat, temporary, nonexisting society and family, we are always full of anxieties. The materialists do not know that the family, society and friendship here in this material world are only shadows, and thus they become attached. Naturally their hearts are always burning, but in spite of all inconvenience, they still work to maintain such false families because they have no information of the real family association with Krsna.
