Prabhupada: So this way one can get the taste. This is the concept. Therefore, the Lord is explaining: raso 'ham apsu kaunteya prabhasmi sasi-sūryayoḥ [Bg. 7.8] if you start researching [that] where the sun rays come from. So, you can go on researching all your life until you find the sun. Then you have found that here is the origin of all the sun rays. Then you can start asking where the sun came from? In this way you can continue your research and finally you will come to understand that Krishna is the origin of all that is aham sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvam pravartate [Bg. 10.8].
So, there are two paths of knowledge one is inductive and the other [another] is deductive. First, you go about researching where the sun rays come from then you start researching where the sun god has come from. In this way you will reach Lord Brahma and where does he come from? He came from Garbhodakasayi Visnu, and where does He come from? He came from Karanodakasayi Visnu, who came from Sahkarsana, Sahkarsana came from Narayana in this way you will come to see:
isvaraḥ paramaḥ krsnaḥ
sac-cid-ananda-vigrahaḥ
anadir adir govindaḥ
sarva-karana-karanam
[Bs. 5.1]
Either you can carry out your own research or accept what through the disciplic succession in both ways you can attain knowledge. One who is a bona fide spiritual master in disciplic succession he says my dear son krsnastu bhagavan svayam [SB 1.3.28], for instance these spiritual masters have already established that God is one and He is Krishna.
Now, all these boys and girls you see they have accepted this fact and they are dancing with joy and are very happy in their life. Otherwise, one can go on about his research work forever, ciram vicinvan [SB. 10.14.29] one will have to keep on inquiring what is God, what is God? This is one way to attain knowledge and if you have faith then you can just accept what the bona fide spiritual master has said.
Just like when the Lord says, we should simply accept it and in this way we will save time for research work. What is the need of wasting time for research work Krishna has said in the Bhagavad gita mattaḥ parataram nanyat kincid asti [Bg. 5.17], there is no truth higher than me. As soon as we understand this our business is finished. There will remain no need to create theosophist association, this association and that association just to get to know God. And neither is this the way to know God.
Ciram vicinvan, athapi te deva padambuja-dvaya-prasada-lesanugrhita eva hi janati tattvam [SB 10.14.29], those who have even just a trace of the mercy of the Supreme Lord, they can understand Him. Nayam atma pravacanena labhyo [SB 2.9.36], this knowledge of the soul and the Supreme Lord is not attained just by making big discussions, na medhayah nor just by having good brain substance, na bahunasrutena nor by reading all the vedas, the Vedanta, srmameva tena [Katha Upanisad 1.2.23], upon those whom the Lord is merciful they get this knowledge. That is why, the Lord Himself says bhaktya mam abhijanati yavan yas casmi tattvataḥ [Bg. 18.55], only by devotional service can I be [me] known there is no other way. That is why for everyone it is required to take up this Krsna bhakti as preached by the Krsna consciousness movement. Please accept it, it is very easy to practice.
hare krsna hare krsna

Thank you very much. [end]
