Program After Ratha-yatra
Program After Ratha-yatra
[00.51] [Prabhupada:] Sri-bhagavan uvaca. In every chapter you will find this word,
[00.57] sri-bhagavan uvaca. Bhagavan means the… Bhagavan means the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
[01.10] Bhaga. Bhaga means "opulence," and van means "one who possesses."
[01.18] So God means "who possesses all the opulences in fullness." He is called Bhagavan.
[01.30] The definition of God is "He is the richest, He is the strongest, He is the most beautiful, He is the wisest,
[01.39] He is the most renounced." In this way, you analyze. There are many rich men,
[01.48] but nobody can say that "I am the richest of all." That is not possible.
[01.54] Because there is competition. If I am rich, you are richer than me, another richer than you,
[02.01] another richer than him. So nobody can say that "I am the richest of all."
[02.09] That only God can say.
[02.12] So in this way, where you find the Supreme, Supreme Being…
[02.18] The word God is defined in dictionary as "the Supreme Being."
Devotees preaching to people attending the festival
[04:16] [Devotee:] We're very technologically advanced, but there's a lacking in society
[04:18] which Srimad-Bhagavatam is filling. That lacking is in spiritual knowledge.
[04:24] Actually, Prabhupada says it's a vacuum, and it is. There's a spiritual vacuum in society.
[04:29] Everybody is doing so many things, but there is no real spiritual understanding of the...
[04:35] The whole basis of activity should have that spiritual understanding behind it.
[04:41] If it's not there, then you'll find frustrated people everywhere, like in today's society.
[04:45] We're so much advanced. You yourselves teach people, and they learn things;
[04:51] they become very expert in mathematics and so many different sciences or grammar.
[04:57] But if that grammar and that science and those different aspects of education
[05:05] aren't centered around God consciousness, then they're all for naught.
Film Show
[05:10] [Prabhupada:] "We are part and parcel of God, or Krsna. We are not enjoyer."
[05:17] [Reporter:] "We asked Jadurani-devi dasi, one of the artists at ISKCON Press, to
[05:23] tell us about her involvement in the Hare Krsna movement.
[05:28] [Jadurani:] So I met Srila Prabhupada in 1967. And I was up in his apartment..."
Continuation of Prabhupada's lecture
[05:46] [Prabhupada:] So in this world of fools and rascals who do not know what is perfection,
[05:52] they are simply thinking, "So long I live, let me live very opulently,
[05:57] and let me dance like the dog. That is perfection."
[06:01] No. Perfection means you must stop birth, death, old age and disease. That is perfection.
[06:07] So out of many thousands of people, one is expert how to stop this imperfection.
[06:15] Manusyanam sahasresu kascid yatati siddhaye, yatatam api siddhanam [Bg. 7.3].
[06:20] And out of many such persons who are actually trying for perfection, out of many thousands of,
[06:28] yatatam api siddhanam kascin vetti mam tattvataḥ [Bg. 7.3].
[06:32] Krsna says, "One who has attained perfection. And out of many such people, many hundreds and thousands, one may know Me."
[06:43] Kascin vetti mam tattvataḥ.
[06:45] Just see how to understand Krsna is so difficult.
[06:48] That Krsna is being delivered by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Take Krsna, immediately.
[06:56] Chant, dance, and take Krsna and eat prasadam and go home.
[07:02] Just see how much efficient this movement is. Immediately.
[07:07] Therefore it is called pratyaksavagamam.
[07:09] Yes. Those who are chanting and dancing, they are realizing. Why? Because Krsna Himself is delivering:
[07:16] "All right. Take it. It is very difficult to understand Me by...,
[07:20] you are so defective. But I give Myself to you. Come on." This is
[07:26] Krsna consciousness movement. Try to understand it.
[07:29] Pratyaksavagamam dharmyam. And it is not difficult. Even a child can take it.
