The Final Instruction

The conference was held on 14th, 15th and 16th of October and Prabhupada would depart exactly one month later on the 14th of November. After the conference I was attending to Prabhupada every night. My duty was from 9:00 p.m.-3:00 a.m. Every night Prabhupada will open his eyes around midnight, and he will speak to me in Bengali about his memories of the all the morning walks that we were together. He said, "I took you with me just to train you." One day he asked me, "Are you convinced about Krsna?" And I said, "Srila Prabhupada, I am most insignificant. Your mercy is all that I am made of. I have no qualification."

On October 27, Gopal Krsna Prabhu brought Srila Prabhupada a newspaper clipping about the conference we had done. The clipping was from Statesman, one of the prominent newspapers in India. The headline read 'The Non-physical View of the Origin of Species'. Srila Prabhupada asked Tamal Krsna Maharaja to read it to him. When he heard the report, he was very pleased and he remarked, "The Bhaktivedanta Institute is now recognized." During the next few days whenever any guest came to visit Srila Prabhupada he would always ask someone to read the Statesman article on the conference. Prabhupada's Godbrothers Ananda Brahmacari and Krsna dasa Babaji came on October 30, and Srila Prabhupada had someone read the article to them.

On November 6, Srila Prabhupada specifically asked me, "What have you learned to preach?" I responded, "Srila Prabhupada, we have learned only to repeat what you have taught us. We are all part and parcel of Krsna, and our duty is to serve Him in all circumstances." Srila Prabhupada nodded in approval.
