7o: ŚRĪMAD-BHĀGAWATAM

The Vedas are compared to a desire tree because they contain all things knowable by mankind about both mundane necessities and spiritual realization. Srimad-Bhagavatam is the mature ripened fruit of this tree. It narrates the transcendental pastimes of the transcendental Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krsna. It is stated in the Srimad-Bhagavatam that this nectarean fruit is relished even by those who are already liberated from materialistic life. Great sages have declared that by careful reading of this master work, one's life will be a complete success.
