4. Sampradaya vihina ye mantras te niphala matah.
[Padma Purana]
Trans: Unless you are initiated by a bonafide spiritual master in the disciplic succession, the mantra that you might have received is without any effect.
5. Yasya deve para bhakti yatha deve tatha gurou
tasyaite kathitha hyarthaḥ prakasante mahatmanaḥ.
[SU 6.23]
Trans: The great souls who have implicit faith upon the Lord and the spiritual master simultaneously unto them only all the imports of vedic knowledge become automatically revealed.
6. Tad viddhi pranipatena pariprasnena sebaya
upadeksanti te jnanam jnanina tatva darsinah.
[Bg 4.34]
Just approach the wise and bonafide spiritual master. Surrender unto him first and try to understand him by enquiries and service. Such a wise spiritual master will enlighten you with transcendental knowledge because he has already known the Absolute Truth.
