'I shall enjoy this land.' So they're fighting
Audio
Prabhupada: ...Arjuna said "Yes." In the beginning he said "No," then after learning Bhagavad-gita he said "Yes." So we have to learn to say "Yes" to Krsna or His representative. Then you will be all right. If you say "No," then it is maya. But you have got the liberty to say "Yes" or "No." [indistinct] If we say "No," then it is our misfortune. If we say "Yes," it is our fortune.
Iccha-dvesa. What is that verse? Sarge yanti paran-tapa. You have got iccha and dvesa-two things there. Iccha means either you have desire for sense gratification or you can desire to serve Krsna. And dvesa means averse. You may not like to serve Krsna, or you may not like to serve maya.
iccha-dvesa-samutthena
sarge yanti paran-tapa
[Bg 7.27]
So we have come here to this material world by two propensities: iccha and dvesa. Iccha, we wanted to enjoy this material world; and dvesa, we try to avoid Krsna. You see? [break]
iccha-dvesa-samutthena
sarge yanti paran-tapa
In this way you have come to this material world.
Just like this Pakistan and Hindustan, fighting. Iccha. Iccha is that "I shall enjoy this land." So they're fighting. They do not know that after all, this land does not belong to any one of us; it belongs to Krsna. Why should we fight? Better you… Let us be satisfied with whatever Krsna has given. But there is no Krsna consciousness; therefore they are fighting. Otherwise, Krsna has made everything complete.
pūrnam idam pūrnam adaḥ
pūrnat pūrnam udacyate
This planet is complete because it is created by Krsna. So there cannot be any scarcity, any want. Everything is there. But we are desiring. Such simple dvesa-samutthena. Dvesa. We want to enjoy more, therefore I envy you. This is our [indistinct]. This is called material [indistinct].
And we are being carried by this different types of desire, and we are getting different types of bodies. Krsna is kind, Lord. Oh, whatever we desire, He supplies it: "All right." Like… But ultimately He says sarva-guhyatamam [Bg 18.64]: "The most confidential part of knowledge I have given to you. Give up all this nonsense and surrender unto Me." So that is all. [end]
