নূতন পত্র লেখাঞা পুস্তকে দেওয়াইল ।
প্রতীতি লাগি' পুরাতন পত্র মাগি' নিল ॥ ২০৯ ॥

pratiti lagi' puratana patra magi' nila

SYNONYMS

nutana-new; patra-leaves; lekhana-getting written; pustake-the book; deoyaila-He gave; pratiti lagi'-for direct evidence; puratana-the old; patra-leaves; magi'-requesting; nila-He took.

TRANSLATION

Since the Kurma Purana was very old, the manuscript was also very old. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu took possession of the original leaves in order to have direct evidence. The text was copied on to a new scroll in order that the Purana be replaced.
