শ্রুতি পায়, লক্ষ্মী না পায়, ইথে কি কারণ ।
ভট্ট কহে, - ইহা প্রবেশিতে নারে মোর মন ॥ ১২৪ ॥
sruti paya, laksmi na paya, ithe ki karana
bhatta kahe,-iha pravesite nare mora mana
sruti paya-the Vedic authorities got admission; laksmi na paya-and the goddess of fortune could not get admission; ithe ki karana-what must be the reason for this; bhatta kahe-Vyeṅkata Bhatta replied; iha-this; pravesite-to enter; nare-is not able; mora-my; mana-mind.
Having been asked by Caitanya Mahaprabhu why the goddess of fortune could not enter into the rasa dance whereas the authorities on Vedic knowledge could, Vyeṅkata Bhatta replied, "I cannot enter into the mysteries of this behavior."
