তীর্থে বিপ্রে বাক্য দিলুঁ, - কেমতে সত্য হয় ।
স্ত্রী, পুত্র, জ্ঞাতি, বন্ধু জানিবে নিশ্চয় ॥ ৩৬ ॥

tirthe vipre vakya diluṅ,-kemate satya haya

stri, putra, jnati, bandhu janibe niscaya

SYNONYMS

tirthe-on pilgrimage; vipre-to a brahmana; vakya-word of honor; diluṅ-I have given; kemate-how; satya-true; haya-it is; stri-wife; putra-sons; jnati-relatives; bandhu-friends; janibe-will know; niscaya-certainly.

TRANSLATION

He began to think: "I have given my word to a brahmana in a holy place, and what I promised will certainly come to pass. I must now disclose this to my wife, sons, other relatives and friends."
