vasi' nama laya puri, nidra nahi haya
sesa-ratre tandra haila,--bahya-vrtti-laya
SYNONYMS
vasi'-sitting there; nama layachants the Hare Krsna maha-mantra; puriMadhavendra Puri; nidrasleep; nahi hayathere was not; sesa-ratreat the end of the night; tandradozing; hailathere was; bahya-vrttiof external activities; layastop.
TRANSLATION
Madhavendra Puri could not sleep. He sat and chanted the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, and at the end of the night he dozed a little, and his external activities stopped.
