যেই গ্রন্থকর্তা চাহে স্ব-মত স্থাপিতে ।
শাস্ত্রের সহজ অর্থ নহে তাঁহে হৈতে ॥ ৪৯ ॥

yei grantha-karta cahe sva-mata sthapite

sastrera sahaja artha nahe taṅha haite

SYNONYMS

yei-anyone who; grantha-karta-author; cahe-wants; sva-mata sthapite-to establish his own opinion; sastrera-of the revealed scriptures; sahaja-the direct; artha-meaning; nahe-is not; taṅha haite-from such an author.

TRANSLATION

"Anyone who wants to establish his own opinion or philosophy certainly cannot explain any scripture according to the principle of direct interpretation.
