yati hana jihva-lampatya--atyanta anyaya
yatira dharma,--prana rakhite ahara-matra khaya"
SYNONYMS
yati hana—being a sannyasi; jihva-lampatya—indulging in satisfying the tongue; atyanta anyaya—grievous offense; yatira dharma—the religious principle of a sannyasi; prana rakhite—to maintain life; ahara—food; matra—only; khaya—eats.
TRANSLATION
"For a sannyasi to indulge in satisfying the tongue is a great offense. The duty of a sannyasi is to eat only as much as needed to keep body and soul together."
