যতি হঞা জিহ্বা-লাম্পট্য, - অত্যন্ত অন্যায় ।
যতির ধর্ম, - প্রাণ রাখিতে আহারমাত্র খায় ।।" ৮৫ ।। ॥ ৮৫ ॥ yati hana jihva-lampatya-atyanta anyaya
yatira dharma,-prana rakhite ahara-matra khaya"
SYNONYMS
yati hana-being a sannyasi; jihva-lampatya-indulging in satisfying the tongue; atyanta anyaya-grievous offense; yatira dharma-the religious principle of a sannyasi; prana rakhite-to maintain life; ahara-food; matra-only; khaya-eats.
TRANSLATION
"For a sannyasi to indulge in satisfying the tongue is a great offense. The duty of a sannyasi is to eat only as much as needed to keep body and soul together."
