'আমি জিতি', - এই গর্ব-শূন্য হউক ইঁহার চিত ।
ঈশ্বর-স্বভাব, - করেন সবাকার হিত ॥ ১২২ ॥

'ami jiti',-ei garva-sunya ha-uka iṅhara cita

isvara-svabhava,-karena sabakara hita

SYNONYMS

ami jiti-let me become victorious; ei-this; garva-pride; sunya-devoid of; ha-uka-let be; iṅhara cita-this person's mind; isvara-svabhava-the characteristic of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; karena-He does; sabakara-of everyone; hita-benefit.

TRANSLATION

"Being very proud of my learning, I am thinking, 'Let me become victorious.' Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, however, is trying to purify me by nullifying this false pride, for a characteristic of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is that He acts for everyone's welfare.
