vidya-vinaya-sampanne
brahmane gavi hastini
suni caiva svapake ca
panditah sama-darsinah
SYNONYMS
vidya-knowledge; vinaya-gentleness; sampanne-endowed with; brahmane-unto a brahmana; gavi-unto a cow; hastini-unto an elephant; suni-unto a dog; ca-and; eva-also; sva-pake-unto a dog-eater; ca-also; panditah-those who are actually learned in spiritual understanding; sama-darsinah-equipoised.
TRANSLATION
" 'The humble sage, by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle brahmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater.'
