tāhā dekhi' dāmodara duḥkha pāya mane
balite nā pāre, bālaka niṣedha nā māne
SYNONYMS
tāhā dekhi'-seeing that; dāmodaraDāmodara Paṇḍita; duḥkha pāya—gets unhappiness; mane—in his mind; balite pāre—could not say anything; bālaka—the boy; niṣedha—prohibition; māne—would not care for.
TRANSLATION
This was intolerable for Dāmodara Paṇḍita. He became greatly unhappy, but there was nothing he could say, for the boy would ignore his restrictions.
