আমি গঙ্গাপথে আইলাঙ, তিঁহো রাজপথে ।
অতএব আমার দেখা নহিল তাঁর সাথে ॥ ৫১ ॥

ami gaṅga-pathe ailaṅa, tiṅho raja-pathe

ataeva amara dekha nahila taṅra sathe

SYNONYMS

ami-I; gaṅga-pathe-on the path on the bank of the Ganges; ailaṅa-I came; tiṅho-he; raja-pathe-on the public road; ataeva-therefore; amara-my; dekha-meeting; nahila-was not possible; taṅra sathe-with him.

TRANSLATION

"I came by the path on the bank of the Ganges, whereas Sanatana Gosvami came by the public road. Therefore we did not meet.
