eka-dina eka-sthane nadi para haite
udiya navika kukkura na cadaya naukate
SYNONYMS
eka-dinaone day; eka-sthanein one place; nadia river; paracrossing; haiteto do; udiya navikaa boatman who was an Oriya (Orissan); kukkurathe dog; na cadayadoes not allow to mount; naukateon the boat.
TRANSLATION
One day, when they needed to cross a river, an Orissan boatman would not allow the dog to get in the boat.
