tabe rupa-gosani yadi sloka padila
suni' prabhu kahe,--'ei ati stuti haila'
SYNONYMS
tabeat that time; rupa-gosaniof the name Rupa Gosvami; yadiwhen; sloka padilarecited the verse; suni'-hearing this; prabhu kaheSri Caitanya Mahaprabhu says; eithis; ati stutiexaggerated offering of prayers; hailawas.
TRANSLATION
When Rupa Gosvami thus recited his verse, Caitanya Mahaprabhu disapproved of it because it described His personal glories. He expressed the opinion that it was an exaggerated explanation.
