happy, joyful, blissful

Yad-avadhi mama cetaḥ krsna-padaravinde. One emperor, he was king, so naturally he was lusty also. So he gave up this life, became a devotee. So when he was perfectly situated, so he said, Yamunacarya-he was the guru of Ramanujacarya-so he said that yad-avadhi mama cetaḥ krsna-padaravinde: "Since I've trained my mind to be engaged in the service of the lotus feet of Krsna," yad-avadhi mama cetaḥ krsna-padaravinde nava-nava-dhamany udyatam rasa, "daily I am offering service to Krsna, I am getting new, new pleasure." The spiritual life means... If one is actually situated in spiritual life he'll get spiritual pleasure, transcendental bliss, by serving more and more, new and new. That is spiritual life. So Yamunacarya said, yad-avadhi mama cetaḥ krsna-padaravinde nava-nava-dhamany udyatam rantum asit: "When I am now realizing transcendental pleasure every moment by serving Krsna's lotus feet," tad-avadhi, "since then," bata nari-sahgame... Sometimes we enjoy subtle pleasure, thinking of sex life. That is called nari-sahgame. Nari means woman, and sahga means union. So those who are practiced, so when there is actually no union, they think of union. So Yamunacarya says that "Not actually union with woman, but if I think of union," tad-avadhi bata nari-sahgame smaryamane, smaryamane, "simply by thinking," bhavati mukha-vikaraḥ, "oḥ, immediately I becomes disgusted: 'Aḥ, what is this nasty thing?' " Susthu nisthi... [makes spitting sound] This is perfect. [chuckles] This is perfection. Yes. So long we'll think of, that is called subtle sex, thinking. They read the sex literature. That is subtle sex. Gross sex and subtle sex. So one has to become completely free from these lusty desires, not to become implicated which will never be satisfied-unsatiated, duspūram.    (More...)

And in the previous verse we have discussed rjubhir yoga-margaiḥ [SB 3.25.26]. Rju, very simple method. Rju means very simple. Everyone can perform it. Susukham kartum avyayam [Bg 9.2], in the Bhagavad-gita. Very happy. If you chant Hare Krsna and dance, it is very happy thing. And by dancing, dancing, as soon as you become hungry, take prasadam, ready. So where is the trouble? Therefore it is rjubhir yoga-margaiḥ. Our Krsna consciousness movement is so nice there is no trouble only. And another thing is that there is great hope. Everything we are doing under the spell of maya, we do not know where we are going, what is the ultimate aim. We do not know. Prakrteḥ kriyamanani. We are under the spell of maya, driven by the gunas. You must accept. If you don't take to Krsna consciousness and give it ourselves on the waves of maya, then we do not know where we are going. The Caitanya..., Bhaktivinoda Thakura says, mayar bose, jaccho bhese', khaccho habuḍubu bhai. Just like a straw in the waves of the ocean or the river, it is fully under the control of the waves-sometimes diving, sometimes coming out, sometimes going this way, going that. Our position is like that. We do not know that prakrteḥ kriyamanani [Bg 3.27]. Under the material nature we are being carried by the waves of material nature, and you do not know where you are going, because you have no control.    (More...)

So this is spiritual varieties. Material varieties cannot give us full satisfaction. Therefore you want change-change, another change, another change. Punaḥ punas carvita-carvananam [SB 7.5.30]. Here in the material world we are simply chewing the chewed. Once chewed and thrown it away, again somebody is coming, chewing. So spiritual variety is not like that. Spiritual varieties is anandambudhi-vardhanam. The more you are attached to spiritual varieties, it is just like ocean. An ocean does not increase, but spiritual varieties are said they are increasing. Now just like here you have got the Arabian Sea. It is not increasing. It would have increased, then Bombay town would have been finished long ago. So it is not increasing. It has got a certain limit. You go to the beach, you see sudden, "No, no more than." But it is compared with anandambudhi, the ocean of bliss, increasing, vardhanam. Anandambudhi-vardhanam.    (More...)

So this Krsna consciousness movement means to give them idea of real enjoyment. If... So real enjoyment means that when you are uncontaminated with this material body. Spiritual enjoyment. Now we are trying to enjoy with this body. The body is senses. Indriyani parany ahuḥ. Bodily enjoy means the sense enjoyment. Indriyani parany ahur indriyebhyaḥ param manaḥ, manasas tu para buddhiḥ [Bg 3.42]. In this way we have to understand that this body is false; therefore the bodily enjoyment is also false. That they cannot understand. This is their misfortune. Therefore one who does not understand in the beginning of spiritual life that "I am not this body. I am different from body..." Then his spiritual life begins. Otherwise, cats and dogs and everyone is engaged with this bodily enjoyment. So long we shall be captivated by this bodily enjoyment, we are in the groups of animals. That's all.    (More...)
So our this Krsna consciousness movement is not to stop your enjoyment but to bring you in the platform where you can enjoy eternally. That is Krsna consciousness. So if you want false enjoyment, then you remain in this material world in the darkness. But the Veda says, tamaso ma jyotir gamaya: "Don't keep yourself foolishly in darkness. Come to the light." So in order to come to the light, you have to follow certain restrictions. Just like you are diseased, and if you want to come to be healthy again, then you have to follow some restrictions, some injunctions. Doctor says, "You don't eat this. You don't do this. You don't do this." That is the way of going to the healthy condition of life. Tapo divyam yena suddhyet sattvam [SB 5.5.1].    (More...)
