Imported quote 17660 Caitanya-caritamrta author, such an exalted person, practically the most exalted personality in Gauḍiya-Vaisnava... His Caitanya-caritamrta, there is no comparison. It is a postgraduate study. So the author of the book, he's presenting himself that "My position is lower than the worm in the stool." Purisera kita haite muni se laghistha. And jagai madhai haite muni se papistha. Jagai-Madhai was the example of papi, sinful. Caitanya Mahaprabhu... Narottama dasa Thakura sings, papi-tapi jata chilo hari-name uddharilo, brajendra-nandana jei saci-suta hailo sei balarama hailo nitai: "Two brothers who were formerly the son of..., Vrajendra-nandana, the Maharaja Nanda, his son, Krsna, and Balarama, so Balarama has become Nitai, and Krsna has become Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu." But... Why They have become Nitai, and Caitanya Maha...? Now, papi-tapi jata chilo: "Just to deliver all the sinful person." So "Did He... Did They do actually so?" "Yes." "Then where is the evidence?" Tara saksi jagai and madhai: "Here is evidence. They delivered Jagai and Madhai."
(More...) Prabhupada: No. Generally those who are associates of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. They may also come. To help this movement. That is also not illegal to think. Caitanya Mahaprabhu's associates, means their businesses is to preach Krsna consciousness. So by the order of the Caitanya Mahaprabhu, they may come. By the order of Krsna, by the order of Caitanya Mahaprabhu they come. Just like all these members of the Yadu dynasty they came to assist Krsna. They came from heavenly planets. Demigods. Sometime to propagate Caitanya Mahaprabhu's mission the devotees come. Just like Panca-tattva, Srivasa Thakura is incarnation of Narada. Sri-krsna-caitanya prabhu nityananda sri-advaita gadadhara srivasa. Srivasa is incarnation of Narada. So to assist Caitanya Mahaprabhu's movement Narada came. And Brahma came as Haridasa Thakura.
(More...) Imported quote 18974 Devotee's business is to glorify. He doesn't take any credit for himself. Actually, there is nothing to be taken credit. The all credit goes to Krsna. A devotee neither claims; neither it is possible. Even he may be very, very big devotee, he will never claim any credit for his glorious activities. His glorious activities means to make Krsna glorious. That is his glorious activities. Not that like the so-called materialist, he takes..., wants to take the credit. No. Sva-karmana tam abhyarcya samsiddhim labhate naraḥ [Bg 18.46]. Sva-karmana. You may be engaged in any pattern of work, any department of work. But by dint of your work you establish the existence of God, Krsna; and whatever is being done, it is being done by the expert management of Krsna. The sun is rising exactly in the time, and it is setting exactly in the time. And the temperature, according to the different season, the movement, uttarayana, daksinayana-everything is managed so expertly under the order of the Supreme. Mayadhyaksena prakrtiḥ [Bg 9.10]. Don't think the sun is working so nicely automatically. No automatically. The master is there: Krsna. Yasyajnaya bhramati sambhrta-kala-cakraḥ [Bs 5.52].
(More...) Imported quote 19015 In every inquisitive mind the important question of the creation of the phenomenal world arises, and therefore for a personality like Maharaja Pariksit, who was to know all activities of the Lord from his spiritual master, such inquiry is not uncommon. For every unknown thing, we have to learn and inquire from a learned personality. The question of creation is also one of such inquiries to be made from the right person. The spiritual master, therefore, must be one who is sarva-jna, as stated hereinbefore in connection with Sukadeva Gosvami. Thus all inquiries on God which are unknown to the disciple may be made from the qualified spiritual master, and here the practical example is set by Maharaja Pariksit. It was, however, already known to Maharaja Pariksit that everything that we see is born out of the energy of the Lord, as we have all learnt in the very beginning of Srimad-Bhagavatam (janmady asya yataḥ). So Maharaja Pariksit wanted to know the process of creation. The origin of creation was known to him; otherwise he would not have inquired how the Personality of Godhead, by His different energies, creates this phenomenal world. The common man also knows that the creation is made by some creator and is not created automatically. We have no experience in the practical world that a thing is created automatically. Foolish people say that the creative energy is independent and acts automatically, as electrical energy works. But the intelligent man knows that even the electrical energy is generated by an expert engineer in the localized powerhouse, and thus the energy is distributed everywhere under the resident engineer's supervision. The Lord's supervision in connection with creation is mentioned even in the Bhagavad-gita (Bg. 9.10), and it is clearly said there that material energy is a manifestation of one of many such energies of the Supreme (parasya saktir vividhaiva srūyate). An inexperienced boy may be struck with wonder by seeing the impersonal actions of electronics or many other wonderful things conducted by electrical energy, but an experienced man knows that there is a living man behind the action, who creates such energy. Similarly the so-called scholars and philosophers of the world may, by mental speculation, present so many Utopian theories about the impersonal creation of the universe, but an intelligent devotee of the Lord, by studying the Bhagavad-gita, can know that behind the creation is the hand of the Supreme Lord, just as in the generating electrical powerhouse there is the resident engineer. The research scholar finds out the cause and the effect of everything, and the research scholars as great as Brahma, Siva, Indra and many other demigods are sometimes bewildered by seeing the wonderful creative energy of the Lord, so what to speak of the tiny mundane scholars dealing in petty things. As there are differences in the living conditions of different planets of the universe, and as one planet is superior to others, similarly the brains of the living entities in those respective planets are also of different categorical values. As it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, one can compare the long duration of life of the inhabitants of Brahma's planet, which is inconceivable to the inhabitants of this planet earth, to the categorical value of the brain of Brahmaji, also inconceivable by any great scientist of this planet. And with such high brain power, even Brahmaji has described in his great Samhita (Brahma-samhita) as follows:
(More...) Nimitta-matram bhava savyasacin. Krsna says to Arjuna that "This plan of Battle of Kuruksetra is already there. I have caused assembly of all the demonic persons here." And paritranaya sadhūnam vinasaya ca duskrtam [Bg 4.8]: "This is My plan. So Arjuna, I am flattering you so much that you fight. Fight. But don't think if you do not fight, they will go home. They will have to die here, because it is My plan already." Nimitta-matram bhava savyasacin: "Because you are My devotee, you take the credit. You take the credit." So actually a devotee, because he is very sincere servant of Krsna, so Krsna wants to give credit to His devotee, although He is doing everything. Sarvasya caham hrdi sannivisto mattaḥ smrtir jnanam apohanam ca [Bg 15.15].
(More...) Imported quote 19212 So these puffed-up persons cannot understand Krsna. One has to become very humble. Christ also says, "The kingdom of God is for the humble and the meek." That is actually... And Krsna also says, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja [Bg 18.66]. This is the beginning of humbleness: "Yes, I have nothing, insignificant." Bahūnam janmanam ante jnanavan mam [Bg 7.19]. This is real knowledge, to remain always insignificant before guru, Krsna. Then it is profit. If somebody thinks that "I have become more than my guru, more than Krsna," then he is finished. So one should become very humble and meek. It doesn't matter where he is situated, either this institutionally, brahmacari, grhastha, vanaprastha, sannyasa. Even one has taken sannyasa, he should remain always humble. So never we should think that "I have become very big personality." That was the instruction of my Guru Maharaja, that baḍa vaisnava-"I am very big Vaisnava. Everyone should come and obey my orders"-this is condemned position. The real position is one should be very humble and meek. Jnane prayasam udapasya namanta eva [SB 10.14.3].
(More...) Imported quote 19256 Prabhupada: Yes. Every Vaisnava, that is Vaisnava's sadacara, humbleness. Trnad api sunicena taror api sahisnuna . Although Vaisnava knows everything, still he presents himself very humble, lower that the straw, humbler than the tree. Trnad api sunicena taror api sahisnuna, amanina: they don't..., the devotee does not claim any so-called popular respect, false respect. They go on with their Krsna consciousness movement. Trnad api sunicena taror api sahisnuna, amanina: if anyone wants some honor, he gives everyone honor. For him, he does not want any honor. What honor he'll take, this material honor?
