But unfortunately, instead of taking shelter of Krsna, we have taken shelter of lusty desires. This is demonic. Therefore it is said, kamam asritya duspūram. Duspūram... Duḥ. Duḥ means very difficult, and pūram means satisfaction. Duspūram. We have taken shelter of lusty desires which will never be satisfied. This is our position. Kamam asritya duspūram. These materialistic person, demons, their desires are never fulfilled-increasing, increasing, increasing; more, more more. So that means, increasing means, we are becoming implicated more and more. The business of human life is how to become free from this material encagement. But the asuras, or the demons, instead of becoming free from material entanglement, they become more and more involved. That is the... Just like that kite-flying. Kite-flying, there is that reel? What is called? No, you have no experience. So you can fly. The kite goes very high and high. In India kite-flying is very popular sport. So you can allow the kite go and go, very high, and at the same time you can bring it near and nearer by that wheel. Nirbandhaḥ krsna-sambandhe yuktam vairagyam ucyate [Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu 1.2.255]. We do not give up anything; everything Krsna's. We are within this material world on account of this pravrtti, sense enjoyment. Those who are inclined to sense enjoyment and do not care to know what is the aim of life, they are called asuras. And those who are trying to avoid the entanglement of this material life and revive the whole original life... Whole original life means Krsna conscious life. Because we are part and parcel of Krsna, our original consciousness is that "I have got intimate relationship with Krsna as His part and parcel." That is Krsna consciousness. So especially in the Western countries, and now we have also learned... In India, either Hindus or Mussulman, drinking was a sin. Now we have got very easily available liquor. Every door there is a shop, and every door there is meat shop. So India, there was time that they were all devatas; now we are imitating the asuras. On the other hand, the boys and girls from the asuric country, they are becoming the devotee, devatas. So there is no exclusive right for a country to become devata or demon. A demon can be turned into the devata and devata can be turned into demon, provided he does not follow this pravrtti, nivrtti. What is pravrtti-marga? Pravrtti-sambhūtanam nivrtti tu mahabalam.
