life on

Prabhupada: Imam vivasvate yogam [Bg 4.1]. Imam yogam, the same thing as Krsna is speaking to Arjuna, the same thing was spoken to sun-god. Imam vivasvate. Vivasvate: "unto Vivasvan." Vivasvan. The president of the sun planet is known as Vivasvan. His name is given. Just like we know who is the president of United States or India, similarly, those who are advanced in knowledge, they know who is the predominating deity or president of that planet. That requires knowledge. So Krsna said that "I spoke to the sun-god, Vivasvan." So we cannot enter into the sun planet. That is not possible. It is so fiery. Temperature is so high. But Krsna can go. Otherwise, how Krsna went and spoke to the sun-god? It is stated. Therefore we are presenting Bhagavad-gita as it is. We do not interpret the meaning that "Krsna, not this Krsna, that...," and all, so many nonsense things. No. Simple meaning is that if Krsna instructed the sun-god, Vivasvan, then He went there as He comes here. That is natural conclusion. And because He entered the sun planet and He did not burn down into ashes, therefore His body is different. Because if we go, if we enter such high temperature, immediately we are finished, what to say about speaking. So Krsna spoke. These are natural, as it is, conclusion. You cannot interpret.    (More...)

Prabhupada: 93,000,000 miles away from the sunshine, still, we are feeling too much hot, scorching heat. So this planet is..., the temperature is very, very great. But still, there are life. Otherwise how Krsna says, imam vivasvate yogam proktavan aham avyayam [Bg 4.1]: "I went there and I spoke to the sun-god"? The sun-god... As there is president here, there is also president. He is called sun-god. His name is Vivasvan. Everything is there, and Krsna went there and talked with him. But this is a fiery planet. Similarly, the moon is very cold. So every planet has different atmospheric, and they are moving in their orbit, their duration of their life-everything, there is good arrangement.    (More...)
So when the question of order is there, then there must be one order-giver, and there must be one order-carrier. Otherwise, what is the meaning, "order"? Yasya ajnaya, "by whose order." "Whose" means this whose-somebody bigger who is giving order, and the sun planet is carrying out the order. Yasyajnaya bhramati sambhrta-kala-cakraḥ. Yasyajnaya bhramati sambhrta-kala-cakraḥ. So there is order-giver; there is controller, the Supreme Lord; and there is order-carrier, the sun-god. Otherwise, who is carrying the order? If it is only a lump of matter, then who will carry out the order? Now, this Tokyo city, if it is a lump of matter only, then how the systematic order of traffic rules and regulation is... It is not only lump of order..., er, of matter, but there is somebody, the government or the king or the president, who is maintaining the order. This is conclusion. This is analogy. Then how you say that there is no controller? Where is your logic? Can anybody give any logic that there is no...    (More...)

From this verse we can understand the Absolute Truth is realized in three features: bhagavantam adhoksajam; jyoti, param jyoti; and sarva-bhūta-guhavasam. The first realization is jyoti, the next realization is sarva-bhūta-guhavasam, and the last, final, realization is bhagavantam adhoksajam. The example we have given many times, that the sun is there. The first realization is that we come in touch with the sunshine. That is very easy. Anyone can come in light on the sunshine. It is open to everyone. Then the another feature of the sunshine is the sun globe. That is not so easily available. You cannot go to the sun globe. According to the modern scientific conclusion, we can understand that the sun globe is away from us by 93,000,000's of miles, and still, we cannot tolerate the temperature. And what will be your position if you go to the sun globe? Before reaching sun globe even by some millions of... We are already apart 93,000,000 miles, and suppose when there is three million miles apart from ninety, then the temperatures is so high that we will be finished. We cannot approach the sun globe even, and what to speak of entering into the sun globe? That requires a different body. Of course, there are living entities in the sun globe, within the sun globe. And there is the predominating deity also, the president, you may call. There is a state. Just like you have got here, United State, there is state also. And there is also president, and the president's name is Vivasvan. Everything is there in the sastra. We read from Bhagavad-gita, Krsna said, "I spoke to Vivasvan, the president or the predominating deity in the sun globe." So this is all fact. It is not fiction. You are seeing the sun globe, and you are seeing that the sunshine is coming from the sun globe. So it is a globe; therefore there must be inhabitants. But their body is different. That is... Just like this earthly planet is made of earth, or dirt-that is made of fire. This is within these five elements: earth, water, fire, air, ether. So the mixture of these things are there also, but the fire element is there prominent. As here, in this earth, all the mixtures are there, but here the earthly element is prominent. So this is also one of the material worlds.    (More...)

Now make your choice. There are different planets. These rascals say that only living entities are in this planet, and all planets are vacant. Just see their scientific knowledge. What the other planets have done? It is made of the same ingredient, five elements, earth, water, air, fire, and we find innumerable living entities within this planet, and why other planets made of the same ingredient and there is vacant? Why? This is not scientific knowledge. The other planets are also filled up with living entities, even in the sun planet. We cannot think, "The sun planet is made of fire. How living entities can live there?" Yes. Why not? You have to little consider about your rascal senses.    (More...)
Prabhupada: Adahyo 'yam. Adahyo 'yam. This is the nature of the soul, adahya. Asosyo 'yam, asosyo 'yam. The..., that is the distinction between the soul and the matter. Matter, any matter you take, earth, earthly matter, even the hardest matter, namely the iron, it can be melted, it can be burned. But the soul is distinct from this matter. Therefore it is described, adahyo 'yam. Any material thing can be dried up by the air. But soul, asosyo 'yam: "It is not dried up." Any material thing can be moistened. So the soul cannot be. In this way every particular there is. So in the fire the soul cannot be adahyo 'yam, it cannot be burned. And we get information, as there are worms in everything-earth, water, fire... In the fire there are worms. They are called agni-pok. Where is the scientist? But we get this information from the sastra: agni-pok, worms within the fire. And Krsna says, above all-this is also Krsna's statement-imam vivasvate yogam proktavan aham avyayam [Bg 4.1].    (More...)

The other day I was talking on the morning walk about the sun globe. They say because it is fiery there cannot be any life there, but sometimes we see a big iron factory is full of flames from the chimney at a long distance, but does it mean there is no life in the factory? Fire is one of the five material elements, and Bhagavad-gita says that the soul is never burnt by fire. So in the sunglobe globe if the living entities have a fiery body, just as fish have body suitable for living in the water, so how is it that there is no living entity in the sun globe if they have a body suitable to live in the sun globe? In the vedic literatures it is said that there are germs (agni pok) within the fire. There are so many contradictions, but we have our own defence. Why should we blindly accept imperfect scientists, they are imperfect because they are changing their position in the name of progress. The word progress is used when there is imperfection at the beginning. So this regular changing of standard knowledge in the name of progress proves that they are always imperfect. It is a fact that they are imperfect, because they gather knowledge with imperfect senses. At any rate we cannot deviate from vedic knowledge. Regarding coming to Mayapur festival, you must come, because after that we are going to Manipur.
I will send your corrections to the editors. Thank you.
I hope this letter finds you well.
