For taking us under his wing like a father eagle and now that we can fly a little bit we shouldn't become forgetful that our father is ever ready with life-giving instructions. I ask myself, what do I feel in my heart for my spiritual master. I'm finding it very hard to be me. I can safely conclude that I feel nothing at all. And I'm seeing that inside all that I have is a collection of thoughts that I've received from others. I've found that I depend on others for strength, for guidance and that I really don't have anything to say which I can find to be my own. We all have a fund of knowledge on the surface but some situations and occasions demand that we have to go beneath the surface and really be honest with ourselves. Externally we can label different things and deal with different situations according to this fund of knowledge that we may have. But sometimes we have to go deeper inside and this process can be hard. So let us first consider our actual position. There are many different formulas for happiness in the material world to choose from. We can take any course we desire to take, but those wise and thoughtful, inquisitive and innocent men and women will be caught by the ears and caught by the heart when they hear of the wonderful pastimes of Radha and Govinda from the factually realized soul. Those intelligent men will seriously consider the formula for happiness as given by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and will follow his instructions and seek the shelter of his feet and hear what he has to say for he is actually possessing real peacefulness and real humility. He is an individual of great consequence because he has this link with God and he is simply trying to carry out the instructions of his spiritual master and instruct others on how they can find that link with the Supreme Lord-Krsna. There is a great ocean in front of our house and it is very extensive and broad and we cannot see the other shore. But this ocean of pleasure and fullness that comes from the eternal pastimes of Lord Krsna made visible through the literary genius of Srila Prabhupada, our spiritual master, makes this vast ocean appear insignificant and unimportant. So our business is to become introspective and ever able to correct ourselves, not letting ourselves get puffed up by thinking that we are great, and also to learn how to fly and give our energy in Krsna's service. Rather than demand recognition, attention or a pat on the back, we must go within our own hearts in prayer and ask you for the strength to serve, to make that link. And let us endeavor and continue to serve Krsna, each other, and anyone else who is soft-hearted enough to feel or hope to understand the saintly art of self-surrender unto the blessed feet of the pure devotee who is our ever well-wisher.    (More...)

Tapo divyam putraka yena suddhyet sattvam yasmad brahma-saukhyam anantam. Anantam. You are after happiness, but you do not know how to enjoy happiness. That you do not know. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita. Sukham atyantikam yat tad atindriya-grahyam [Bg 6.21]. Atindriya. Not these false senses. We want sense enjoyment, but not these covered senses. We are spiritual. We have got spiritual body. That body is now covered with this material garment; therefore it is covered. The senses are covered. With covered senses, you cannot enjoy actually. The senses must be open. That means you can enjoy life when your senses are open, not covered by this material body. That is recommended. One who is interested in Krsna consciousness... It is said, sarvopadhi-vinirmuktam tat-paratvena nirmalam [Cc Madhya 19.170].    (More...)

So the mission of human life should be how to clarify this consciousness again into that pure consciousness of Krsna, Krsna consciousness. That is the mission of human life. The consciousness is impure; therefore there are so many varieties, material varieties, and we are captivated by these material varieties. But that is not giving us any happiness. We are especially very much unhappy on account of janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi [Bg 13.9]. So if we want to get relief from the miserable condition of this material life... This place is described in the Bhagavad-gita, duḥkhalayam asasvatam [Bg 8.15]:    (More...)
"This place is meant for miseries." Do not try to become happy here. That is foolishness, mūḍha. Nabhijanati mam ebhyaḥ param avyayam. "The mūḍhas, these rascals, they do not know that here he cannot be..., one cannot be happy, because real happiness is when he comes back to Me." Mam ebhyaḥ param... Tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti [Bg 4.9]. That is real happiness. Sukham atyantikam yat tad atindriya-grahyam [Bg 6.21]. Everything is explained in the Bhagavad-gita. So everyone is very..., working very hard, struggling for existence, but they do not know how they can actually become happy. Na te viduḥ svartha-gatim hi visnum [SB 7.5.31]. That they do not know. So it is our humble attempt only, this Krsna consciousness movement. At least, we inform people that "This is the way of happiness." Sukham atyantikam yat tat. "Don't be carried away by temporary, so-called happiness. That is not happiness. This is called maya." Maya-sukhaya bharam udvahato vimūḍhan. Krsna says mūḍha, and Prahlada Maharaja says vimūḍhan-not only mūḍha, but again added with word vi, visista. Visista-prakarena mūḍha. Vi, therefore vimūḍha.    (More...)
