Although it is forbidden, there are many pasanḍis who coin terms like daridra-narayana and svami-narayana, although not even such demigods as Brahma and Siva can be equal to Narayana.    (More...)

To become God is not easy thing. There are some qualification, yesterday we discussed, that He must be the richest, He must be the most powerful, He must be the most famous, He must be the most learned, He must be the most beautiful, and He must be the most renounced. This is the definition of God. A poor man, begging from door to door, he cannot become God, as it is misconceived, daridra-narayana. Why Narayana can be daridra? What is this nonsense? He is the richest. He is the richest. And why He can..., He will be daridra? The argument is forwarded that "God is everyone's heart; therefore everyone is God." What is this argument? Everyone's heart, God is there. God said, isvaraḥ sarva-bhūtanam hrd-dese 'rjuna tisthati [Bg 18.61]. Where God says that because isvara, the Supreme Being, is situated in everyone's heart, therefore everyone is God? What is this argument? Where Krsna says that because isvaraḥ sarva-bhūtanam hrd-dese 'rjuna tisthati, therefore everyone is God? Is that very sound argument?    (More...)

So whatever Kunti said, that was accepted by Krsna. So He remained silent and simply smiled, that "A devotee is glorifying the Lord in chosen words." Here it is said that kala-padaiḥ. Means God is to be worshiped... He is to be offered the best selected words, not that like the atheist fools, they worship, or rather, insult. That very word... It gives us very much pain when God is called "daridra-narayana." Why? Why Narayana should be daridra? That means no conception of Narayana. Therefore they add these insulting words.    (More...)
So here also, Krsna is described as Vaikuntha. If one takes shelter of Krsna, then he also become Vaikuntha. Samasrita ye pada-pallava-plavam. He becomes assured of his safety. Krsna is Vaikuntha. So prthaya ittham kala-padaiḥ. And we should not try to insult God. We should try to glorify God in glorified language. That I have already explained. Uttama-sloka-gunanuvadat. Don't try to speak nonsense and describe God. No. God is never daridra. How He can be daridra? If you describe daridra-narayana, it is a blasphemy. No. Uttama-sloka. Just like Kunti has described, krsna-sakha: "You are the friend of Arjuna." That is the proper explanation. Gopi, gopi-vallabha: "Krsna, You are always prepared to please the gopis." Yasoda-nandana. Yasoda-nandana vraja-jana-ranjana. These are the description. "Krsna, You are the son of Yaso..." Krsna takes pride. Krsna, when His name is attached with the activities of a devotee, He becomes very much pleased. But sometimes Krsna is called Kamsa-nisūdana, Madhusūdana, Kamsari. That is also Krsna's pleasure. He appears to be enemy, Kamsari, to the demons.    (More...)

So how this can be possible? This suhrdaḥ sarva-dehinam is possible when one has surrendered himself to the Supreme Being. On His account, because he has surrendered to the Supreme Being, he is friend to all living being. Artificially you cannot. Artificially you select some section, the poorer section, and worship him like Narayana, and you call him daridra-narayana. But a devotee, if he has got vision of Narayana, he will see the daridra-narayana, the rich Narayana, the chaga-narayana and the every Narayana, panḍitaḥ sama-darsinaḥ [Bg 5.18].    (More...)

Brahmaji confirms herewith that only persons who have developed the desirable qualities can enter into the kingdom of God. In the Caitanya-caritamrta, the devotee's desirable qualities are described to be twenty-six in number. They are stated as follows: He is very kind; he does not quarrel with anyone; he accepts Krsna consciousness as the highest goal of life; he is equal to everyone; no one can find fault in his character; he is magnanimous, mild and always clean, internally and externally; he does not profess to possess anything in this material world; he is a benefactor to all living entities; he is peaceful and is a soul completely surrendered to Krsna; he has no material desire to fulfill; he is meek and humble, always steady, and has conquered the sensual activities; he does not eat more than required to maintain body and soul together; he is never mad after material identity; he is respectful to all others and does not demand respect for himself; he is very grave, very compassionate and very friendly; he is poetic; he is expert in all activities, and he is silent in nonsense. Similarly, in Srimad-Bhagavatam, Third Canto, 25th Chapter, 20th verse, the qualifications of a saintly person are mentioned. It is said there that a saintly person eligible to enter into the kingdom of God is very tolerant and very kind to all living entities. He is not partial; he is kind to both human beings and to animals. He is not such a fool that he will kill a goat Narayana to feed a human Narayana or daridra-narayana. He is very kind to all living entities; therefore he has no enemy. He is very peaceful. These are the qualities of persons who are eligible to enter into the kingdom of God. That such a person gradually becomes liberated and enters the kingdom of God is confirmed in Srimad-Bhagavatam, Fifth Canto, 5th Chapter, 2nd verse. The Srimad-Bhagavatam, Second Canto, 3rd Chapter, 24th verse, also states that if a person does not cry or exhibit bodily changes after chanting the holy name of God without offense, it is to be understood that he is hardhearted and that therefore his heart does not change even after he chants the holy name of God, Hare Krsna. These bodily changes can take place due to ecstasy when we offenselessly chant the holy names of God, Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.    (More...)
