PURPORT

The word deula refers to the temple where the Supreme Personality of Godhead is situated. The present temple of Jagannatha Puri was constructed by King Anaṅga-bhima. Historians say this temple must have been constructed at least two thousand years ago. During the time of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the small buildings surrounding the original temple had not been constructed. Nor was the high platform in front of the temple present during the time of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
