कथंस्विद्ध्रियते दण्डः किं वास्य स्थानमीप्सितम् ।
दण्ड्याः किं कारिणः सर्वे आहोस्वित्कतिचिन्नृणाम् ॥ ३९ ॥
दण्ड्याः किं कारिणः सर्वे आहोस्वित्कतिचिन्नृणाम् ॥ ३९ ॥

kathamsvid dhriyate dandah
kim vasya sthanam ipsitam
dandyah kim karinah sarve
ahosvit katicin nrnam
kathamsvit-by which means; dhriyate-is imposed; dandah-punishment; kim-what; va-or; asya-of this; sthanam-the place; ipsitam-desirable; dandyah-punishable; kim-whether; karinah-fruitive actors; sarve-all; ahosvit-or whether; katicit-some; nrnam-of the human beings.
