My Dear Rupanuga,
Please accept my blessings and please offer the same to your better half, Srimati Kalindi devi dasi. I am so glad that you are finding your wife to be the goddess of fortune. That is the special qualification of a good wife in Krsna consciousness. I think Ekendra is studying in New Vrndavana, and most probably he is doing very well. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your two letters dated 15 February and 4 March, 1971, along with enclosures of pictures of the T.V. engagement, two cheques for $50. each and a copy of lithe "Krsna Sun". Thank you very much for all of these.
Regarding the initiations, when I return there will be many initiations performed at that time, so they may go on becoming strong in devotional service until then. One thing I beg to point out is that London affairs are not going very well. Sometimes the company man comes to cut off the electricity. The van is taken away. They are debtor by 5,000 Pounds. Of course, all these things happened before and now they are debtor to so many parties and I think they are selling Krsna and other books and not paying very regularly. Murari has gone taking money and another also has done the same. London is an important center, so I am surprised how you could not detect all these anomalies while you were personally there. It is the duty of the GBC members to see that in every center 1 things are going on regularly.
I have already written to Karandhar and Hayagriva about the "Back to Godhead" program. I have already paid $20,000 to D I Nippon on the 16th instant on BTG account to save the crisis. Their debt was $52,000, now reduced to $32,000. The procedure should be that you get 2000,000 copies printed monthly and collect at least $0.25 per copy although the price is marked as $0.50. That will yield $50,000. $14,000 will go to the cost of printing (balance=$36,000.) $5,000. will go toward the old debt (balance=$31,000.) This $31,000 to be distributed proportionately to the centers or if possible, contributed to my book fund. The GBC should immediately take up this management as suggested by me then there will be no difficulty. The first four installments of $5,000. go to my Book Fund to pay off the loan of $20,000. and from the fifth installment shall go directly to Dai Nippon against their old debt.($32,000.)
I have received to date no letter from Gargamuni from Pakistan, but I am so pleased with the present moment the situation in very favorable for our Movement there. If Gargamuni can open a center there it will be a great credit for him, worthy of his position. Regarding Paris, anyway for the last two years it has been going on and nobody has been able to establish a center there. Yes, Jai Govinda is now under the clutches of maya. I thought after marriage, he will be useful, but he is now under the influence of his wife or maya. It is the blessings of Krsna upon you that your wife is helping, therefore she must be the goddess of fortune, She is a nice girl.
Hope this will meet you in good health.
Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
