My dear Govinda dasi,

Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated August 20th 1970 with enclosures of Tulasi leaves, cheque for $100, Goursundar's Sanskrit composition and article for BTG. I have received also two newspaper clippings. I thank you very much for all these gifts on the Vyas Puja Day.

As we receive knowledge through the Disciplic succession from Krsna down to our Spiritual Master, similarly whatever presentation is given to the Spiritual Master it reaches in the same way to the Lotus Feet of Krsna. It is the duty of the disciple to offer homage by expressing respectful sentiments on the Lotus Feet of the Spiritual Master and it is very good to present some gifts also. So your example on the Vyas Puja Day is very good.

But real homage to the Spiritual Master is to execute His Blissful Will. So far I am concerned I came to your country with a mission of my Spiritual Master just to spread this Krsna Consciousness Movement in the Western world and because I came here with a sincere purpose, Krsna and my Spiritual Master, His Divine Grace Sri Srimad Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada, favored me by sending so many, young American boys and girls and all of you helped me in this attempt, so much so that it is now a practical effect that we are preaching this Krsna Consciousness Movement within an area of a few thousands of miles covering almost all the area of this globe.

So far your husband and yourself are concerned, you have been entrusted with popularizing this Movement of Lord Caitanya in New Nabadwipa. It is very encouraging to learn that people inquired about me and were eager to hear my speaking. I could have stayed one or two days more, there was no hurry, but you did not make any arrangement. I personally proposed to Goursundar that I shall install the Deity and he replied that let me consult, but he never informed me of the result of that consultation and with whom he was to consult. So this is the present situation of our ISKCON Society. It is clear that a great mischievous propaganda was lately made and the effect has created a very unfavorable situation and I am very much afflicted in this connection, Still there is time to save the Society out of this mischievous propaganda and I hope all of you combined together do the needful.

I am very glad to learn that Tulasi plant is growing very luxuriantly which is a sign that you have pure devotion to Lord Krsna, Try to save this achievement by protecting yourself from the offences prescribed in our regular duties. If we follow our regulative principles, chant rigidly the sixteen rounds and try to save us from the ten kinds of offences, then our spiritual! progress is without any danger.
