Letter to: Rupanuga — Camp: ISKCON RAHDAKRISHNA TEMPLE, 5516 Roosevelt Way N.E. Seattle, Wash. 98105 — 1 October, 1968

My Dear Rupanuga,

Please accept my blessings. I hope you are all well there, and your Buffalo temple is running on nicely. I have received today one card from a gentleman in Florida, Mr. Fugate, who is a friend of Dayananda and Nandarani, and who is for some time interested in our Krishna Consciousness movement. The card reads as follows:

Dear Friends,
You are more than welcome to Tampa and I can help you fi-nancially and by helping you to make contacts. I have spoken to some associates, and they seem optimistic. By optimistic I mean ten or so genuinely interested people. This would possibly be a good base for temples in Sarasota and Coral Gables/ Miami.

I just arrived back in Florida and went to Tampa the first day back and ran into a friend who asked me what I knew about chanting. This chance meeting led to a whole nest of "seekers". I only wish I knew enough to start this group chanting but feel that I should hold off until they can have a more expert init-iation. My phone number is (815) 782-1126. This card was addressed to Goursundar, as formerly I was going to send him to Florida. But we learned from Nandarani that Mr. Fugate was to be in the north for 18 months, so I sent him to Hawaii instead. Now, by change of plans, Mr. Fugate is back in Tampa, Florida, and is requesting that some devotees come there and start a center, (see copy of letter to Nandarani from Mr. Fugate enclosed herewith) So I am thinking how to do it. Mr. Fugate has got 10 acres of land near Tampa, and is willing to help us. So, is it possible that you could go there for some days and help start one center with the assistance of this Mr. Fugate? If you think this may be good possibility, I shall be glad to hear from you immediately by return of post in this connection. Awaiting your early reply, and hoping you are all well.
