यः प्रियार्थमुतङ्कस्य धुन्धुनामासुरं बली ।
सुतानामेकविंशत्या सहस्रैरहनद्वृतः ॥ २२ ॥

yah priyartham utaṅkasya

dhundhu-namasuram bali

sutanam eka-vimsatya

sahasrair ahanad vrtah

yah-he who; priya-artham-for the satisfaction; utaṅkasya-of the great sage Utaṅka; dhundhu-nama-of the name Dhundhu; asuram-a demon; bali-very powerful (Kuvalayasva); sutanam-of sons; eka-vimsatya-by twenty-one; sahasraih-thousands; ahanat-killed; vrtah-surrounded.

TRANSLATION

To satisfy the sage Utaṅka, the greatly powerful Kuvalayasva killed a demon named Dhundhu. He did this with the assistance of his twenty-one thousand sons.
