yamunā dekhiyā preme paḍe jhāṅpa diyā
āste-vyaste bhaṭṭācārya uṭhāya dhariyā
yamunā—the River Yamunā; dekhiyā—seeing; preme—in ecstatic love; paḍe—falls down; jhāṅpa diyā—jumping; āste-vyaste—in great haste; bhaṭṭācārya—Balabhadra Bhaṭṭācārya; uṭhāya—raises; dhariyā—catching.
As soon as Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu saw the River Yamunā, He threw Himself in it. Balabhadra Bhaṭṭācārya hastily caught the Lord and very carefully raised Him up again.
