tam tathavanatam bhaktam
praja-kamam prajapatim
citta-jnah sarva-bhutanam
idam aha janardanah
SYNONYMS
tamhim (Prajapati Daksa); tathain that way; avanatamprostrated before Him; bhaktama great devotee; praja-kamamdesiring to increase the population; prajapatimunto the prajapati (Daksa); citta-jnahwho can understand the hearts; sarva-bhutanamof all living entities; idamthis; ahasaid; janardanahthe Supreme Personality of Godhead, who can appease everyones desires.
TRANSLATION
Although Prajapati Daksa could not say anything, when the Lord, who knows everyones heart, saw His devotee prostrate in that manner and desiring to increase the population, He addressed him as follows.
