lobha ha-ila yavanera mudra dekhiya
ratre ganga-para kaila daduka katiya
SYNONYMS
lobha ha-ilathere was attraction for the money; yavaneraof the meat-eater; mudra dekhiyaseeing the golden coins; ratreat night; ganga-para kailahe got him across the Ganges; dadukashackles; katiyabreaking.
TRANSLATION
When the meat-eater saw the coins, he was attracted to them. He then agreed, and that night he cut Sanatana's shackles and let him cross the Ganges.
