পূর্বে আমি রাম-নাম পাঞাছি 'শিব' হৈতে ।
তোমার সঙ্গে লোভ হৈল কৃষ্ণনাম লৈতে ॥ ২৫৬ ॥

purve ami rama-nama panachi 'siva' haite

tomara saṅge lobha haila krsna-nama laite

SYNONYMS

purve-formerly; ami-I; rama-nama-the holy name of Lord Rama; panachi-got; siva haite-from Lord Siva; tomara saṅge-by your association; lobha haila-I became greedy; krsna-nama laite-to chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra.

TRANSLATION

"Formerly I received the holy name of Lord Rama from Lord Siva, but now, due to your association, I am greatly eager to chant the holy name of Lord Krsna.
